Entrusted

I just read Mary Beth Chapman's book Choosing To SEE. You must get it!
It is so beautiful. She mentions being 'entrusted with incredible pain'. What a beautiful way to look at life.
What a huge responsibility, and even an honor to be entrusted by God to bring Him glory through an incredible pain brought about by this broken world, but also allowed by a perfect God.
When (what we believe is a) disaster strikes it is not because God was looking the other way.

My cousin just gave birth to a beautiful little boy last week.
The cord was wrapped around his neck 2x.
He is breathing on his own, but has not had brain function. Our family is on our knees.
Please pray for baby Gavin. Please pray for my cousin and her husband.
He will NEVER leave us, or FORSAKE us.
God is good ALL the time!

Hope for Dube Bute

My dear friend Emily is raising $ for her sons birth village- Dube Bute. His village just so happens to be right next to our daughters! And Emily just so happens to be the one God used to bring us to Miss B.

This is the link for an awesome raffle she is doing. $10 buys you in for lots of cool stuff!

Her family has already done some AMAZING things for their sons birthplace in the name of Jesus!
The initial project was 18 water points, 2 classroom buildings (8 total classrooms), a health clinic, and vet clinic. There are latrines at the schools and two clinics, as well as equipment and furnishing for everything.
They have COMPLETED Phase 1 and are now raising support for Phase 2!
Lets help them out!

Birthday Girl

Today our sweet Ethiopian Princess turns 4.
We got an update and a picture of the most electric smile you could imagine!

Here is a portion of our update...
"B" has a really big personality: it fills the room. When you enter her room, you’re immediately enveloped by her smile, her laughter, and her gregariousness. You can’t escape them. She loves to involve you in whatever she’s doing. And, along with this big personality comes a good deal of mischief—the good kind of mischief. I don’t always know what she’s saying, but I can recognize tone, and her tone is often sassy and playful. She’s a lot of fun because of that.
How I long to be with her. To have her personality fill our home, to be enveloped by her smile.
This is the last birthday she will celebrate as an orphan, we are her family.
We love you Miss B! Happy 4th Birthday!
